I was surprised that even though I booked a 100 euro treatment I was still charged 70 euros to use the spa. Firstly, the spa was dark and really cold and not at all inviting. The sauna door was broken and it kept opening on its down, not very relaxing to have to keep jumping up. There was a faulty light outside which kept coming on and off which was also not relaxing at all. Then when I went to use the steam room the smell was so bad in there it wasn’t possible to use it, it smelled like rotten cabbage. Going to the hot tub outside, there was no seat to sit in it, it was just a round pool with two pipes, piping out water really fast. It was the same with the indoor jacuzzi, really cheaply done. Then to the massage. I travel frequently for work and 100 euros is a lot for just 50 minutes but I didn’t even get 50 minutes, it was cut short to just 40 minutes. When I walked out of the room and shut the door behind me, the wooden door was dirty with something sticky. The showers in the changing room were like what you would find in a 2 star budget hotel. I did email asking to feedback my experience to management but it’s clear they really don’t care. My 8 friends were all interested in also getting massages but they were put off by the 70 euros charge on top to use what was a run down spa desperately in need of renovation. I am very disappointed and I left feeling that I had been ripped off.

The few days spent in this place with my boyfriend, in the period between Christmas and New Year's Eve, were extremely relaxing and peaceful. The stunning mountain views provided a perfect backdrop for our stay, and the cozy atmosphere made it easy to unwind. The room was comfortable and clean. The highlight was, definitely, the spa. We enjoyed the soothing hot tubs, saunas, and relaxation areas, which were the perfect way to melt away any stress. Friendly and professional staff, really good quality food, and surprisingly, extremely good sushi. The winery was a dream, with a lot of choice and high quality. Overall, a wonderful retreat for anyone looking to recharge and enjoy some quality relaxation.

Me and my partner stayed at the Chaberton Lodge & Spa hotel for five nights in February. Starting with the positives: - There were three members of staff that made our trip, and our experience at the hotel would not have been the same without them. We didn’t catch their names however it was the man in the restaurant with tattoos (amazing service and always had a smile on this face), the older lady on the front desk with light brown short hair (always happy to see us and helped us with any questions we had) and our shuttle bus driver (I think his name was Andrea, he helped us with our skis and was always cheerful). - The food quality is very good, the breakfast menu is extensive and the dinner we had at the hotel was worth the money. - The spa at the hotel was lovely and I would highly recommend to anyone staying. - The shuttle bus service to the chair lift is great and the driver was really nice. - The hotel lobby area is beautiful, there is a bar with lots of cosy seating areas and a fireplace with snowy mountain scenery. - Room was cosy, traditional mountain lodge hotel aesthetic Now on to the negatives of our stay: - I made the hotel aware that I was proposing to my girlfriend on this trip and booked dinner at the hotel restaurant next to the fireplace. I was told 30 minutes before my booking that the fireplace seating I booked was no longer available due to a large group of people arriving soon. We had our dinner at a different table and no large group came into the restaurant. - Considering the money that we spent at this hotel and the fact we chose to spend our engagement evening at the hotel, they didn’t congratulate us or acknowledge our engagement in any way (complimentary glass of champagne or special touches in the room would have been nice) - The younger breakfast staff were not great. Every request felt like we were a nuisance to them and they lacked common sense and kept forgetting simple requests. - On check-out, the hotel attempted to charge me more than what was due. I corrected them and they amended the bill. Might have been trying it on! - The hotel is quite old and as a result, you hear absolutely everything (people talking / walking in the corridor and you can hear water running through the pipes). We woke up throughout the night numerous times. - The towels were old and very rough. The hotel should invest in some newer softer towels. We also weren’t given fresh towels throughout our stay. Taking all of the above into consideration, we did have enjoy our stay however we were expecting a lot more given the money being charged per night. I have stayed at a number of hotels in Sauze and I wouldn’t say the more expensive rates are completely justified. There is a lot of room for improvement.

Wonderful experience, splendid food, fantastic staff, great skiing resort, highly recommended. Great reception, incredible shuttle service, lively and entertaining karaoke and cocktail nights, already thinking of going back next year!

This place was just great, we have really enjoyed ourselves. It was a party of 8 and we all have been looked after really well. Staff was very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. It is not a budget meal type place but definitely recommend it.

Staff where really nice, location perfect, views outstanding, comfortable in lounge area outside and in the bedroom. We stayed for 4 nights and the food was good for 3 evenings the last evening it was poor. This should not have been as there was only one other couple staying in the hotel. Hotel manager was very good at looking after us, thank you.
